Peterson, Jesse, has been prominently identified with the manufacturing industry of Lockport for the past twenty-five years. He was born at Belfast, Allegany county, N. Y., October 1, 1850. His parents removed to Lockport when he was quite young. He rapidly mastered business methods and has advanced step by step until he is now president of one of the largest manufactories of the kind in the country. The United Indurated Fiber Co. of which he is president, was organized and incorporated in 1887, with a capital stock of $750,000. Mr. Peterson was married to Arabella A. Brown of Lockport, N. Y., January 29. 1872, and two children have been born to them, Jesse Dudley and Clara B. Mr. Peterson has spent considerable time in travel, not only in the United States, but over continental Europe and a large portion of Africa. He is a member of the Sons of the American Revolution, the Ellicott and Buffalo Clubs of Buffalo, and the City Club of Lockport.
