McCarty, Owen E., was born at Belleville, Ontario, Canada, February 15, 1869, a son of William McCarty, an employee of the Grand Trunk Railroad Company. Owen McCarty attended the public schools of his native town until sixteen years of age, when he entered the medical department of Trinity College at Toronto, and was graduated there from in 1890. He spent the following year in the Toronto general hospitals in the capacity of house surgeon and in 1891 removed to Niagara Falls, N. Y., where he formed a partnership with M. Talbot, M. D., and where he still continues in the successful practice of his profession. Dr. McCarty has been president of the Niagara Falls Academy of Medicine since its organization.
