Lahey, Richard, was born in Royalton, October 29, 1851. His father, P. Lahey, came to the United States from Ireland in 1850, settling at Dundee and in 1352 came to Gasport, entering the employ of the New York Central and Hudson River Railroad Company and continuing in their employ for twenty years, when he purchased the farm where he now resides. Richard Lahey was educated at Gasport and Lockport, and in 1881 entered the employ of the railroad company. In 1872 he came to Gasport and in 1875 was appointed agent, which position he still retains. In 1877 he married Ida E., daughter of Capt. Charles Soper, and they have three children: Arthur R., Elizabeth and Louise.
